It's been almost a month since my last post -- how time flies! I apologize to any disappointed regulars, and I will work hard at lining up some great content for you over the coming weeks.
Before I get to that -- an announcement!
I've been sitting on this one for a few weeks, but it's time to spread the word. I have a new job, and will be starting on Monday with the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB). It's a 1-year maternity leave contract - a full-time CYW position. I am very excited, a little bit nervous, and definitely looking forward to putting my CYW skills into action.
This means a few small changes for Sex Ed Central. For one, I am going to work on making posts on two or three specific days of the week (for the sake of my own organization!). Secondly, I'm going to be posting more "third-party" content ... meaning content that I (or another awesome person) have found, read and enjoyed enough to share with you! Third, it means that I'm going to be busy, but my #1 passion is still teaching sex ed! So if you hear of something I might be interested in, or know someone who wants a workshop, please let me know! *Note: Open Salon readers can contact me via my website - www.sexedcentral.com*
As always, thanks for reading and I would love to hear back from you!
Candice :)

Website changes are coming ...
In the meantime, I am open to suggestions for just about everything ... content, blog posts, information, topics, sex ed workshop ideas, etc ... send them my way! Please send me an email or leave a comment with your ideas/suggestions/constructive criticism and I will certainly take what you say into account. THANK YOU for your continued support as I, and Sex Ed Central, continue to grow.

New Workshop Offerings
My new Bartimaeus business cards arrived today! If you haven't already heard, Bartimaeus and I are partnering to offer a variety of sexual health education workshops. At this point the focus is on serving the sexuality education needs of children and adolescents with developmental disabilities, as well as their caregivers, foster parents and support staff. You can find more information about these new workshops on the Bartimaeus website.

Let me be clear that I will be continuing to offer a wide variety of workshops, available for both staff training and front line clientele. If you're interested in more information, please contact me.
I am very excited about this next step in my sexuality education / sex ed work and I will keep you posted on how things progress!

Sex ed workshops, partnerships and being a CYW ...
1) I'm employed! Yes, after two and a half months, I have a job, as a Child and Youth Worker (CYW), and I am thrilled!
2) I have officially developed a partnership with Bartimaeus Inc., where I will be offering specialized training workshops as well as child and adolescent group programs, all in the field of sexuality education. I'm very excited about this opportunity -- stay tuned to my blog to hear all about it!
3) The Guelph Sexuality Conference was AWESOME. I learned all kinds of great information and useful ideas. Keep reading to hear more!
4) I am graduating next week! The day is almost here, where I will become an official, full-fledged CYW. Look out youth, here I come!
5) I have more exciting training and professional development coming up, including a workshop next week at the AIDS Committee of Guelph. The topic is LGBT and Aging, and you can find more information here.
6) The workshops I'm developing right now are related to sexuality for individuals with developmental disabilities. Do you have something to contribute? I would love to hear from you!
I know this has been a short post, but I need to get back to my workshop development. Stay tuned and thanks for your support!

It's time for more sex!
Well folks, the time has come ... I am officially FINISHED college and now await graduation to officially become a Child and Youth Worker (CYW). Thank you, Georgian College, for providing me with skills, knowledge, excellent contacts and an opportunity to pursue my passion.
Now that school is over, it's time for the good stuff! I have relocated to Cambridge, Ontario and am launching myself into building Sex Ed Central. What does this mean to you, dear readers? It means more education, more workshops, more blog posts, more news updates ... in short, MORE SEX!
Doesn't that sound like fun?!?
I am open to and seeking new opportunities and networking contacts. You can help me continue to build by simply sharing this website with anyone you know who may be interested. If you have an idea, contact me. I want to hear from you!
Stay tuned, folks ... it's all coming together!
Candice :)
p.s. Updated business cards are on the way! Here's a preview ;)
